Do I need to be there for guests to buy?+
No. That's the whole point — the shop runs unstaffed. Guests take what they want and pay on the spot by scanning the QR code, so it earns whether you're on site or not.
How much space and setup does it need?+
As little as a countertop or as much as a walk-in unit. Most hosts start with a single well-placed shelf near where guests arrive, a clear price on every item, and one obvious way to pay. You can widen the range once the takings show you what sells.
How do I stop losing stock without cameras or locks?+
In an honesty shop most losses come from friction and unclear prices, not theft. Make paying a single tap, price every item, keep the shelf tidy and in date, and match perishables to how many guests are booked in. That does more than any camera, and keeps the welcome intact.

How do I get my produce onto honesty-shop shelves?+
Apply to join the producer network. We match local makers — farms, bakeries, breweries, preserve-makers — with nearby hosts running honesty shops, so your produce reaches guests staying in your area.
What kind of products sell best?+
The things guests want on arrival or for an evening in — fresh eggs and milk, bread, real coffee, local ale and wine, good chocolate, and regional treats with a story. Longer-life items are especially valuable because they carry the shelf on quieter weeks.
How is my produce shown to guests?+
Provenance is front and centre. Products are labelled with where they come from — the farm, the village, the maker — because that local story is exactly what makes a guest choose them over a supermarket equivalent.
Payments
How do guests pay?+
By scanning the QR code on the shop and tapping to pay from their phone — no app to download and no cash needed. Paying per item at the shelf, in seconds, is what keeps an honesty shop honest.
Can guests still pay with cash?+
They can, but we steer hosts towards phone payment because cash-only boxes leak far more — most guests simply don't carry notes and coins anymore, and a missed cash payment is one you rarely recover.
How do hosts see what they've earned?+
Takings from phone payments are recorded automatically, so hosts can see what sold and what came in without counting a cash tin. That record is also what lets you compare stock that left the shelf against money received, and spot any shrinkage early.
